Aura Dew Illuminator PICO is a limited-edition multi-powder that encourages users to have fun with makeup while bringing out their beauty. The powder contains pearls of various sizes, producing a lovely luminance on the skin and around the eyes.

While each color is beautiful on its own, layering produces an even more delicate blend of colors. Using the traditional Japanese technique of layering colors, “kasane (layering),” we expressed the fleeting beauty of Japan’s ever-changing landscapes.

「In the Heian Period (794-1185), “Kasane Irome” referred to producing color combinations through multiple colors, whether on two sides of one garment or by layering two or more separate garments. This layering of garments or papers was meant to express an appreciation for the beauty of the seasons and colors. We put a modern twist on this traditional technique, calling it “KASANE.”

The powder’s surface features a three-dimensional pattern resembling higashi, a dry style of Japanese sweets. This pattern creates a texture that brings out the pearls’ beauty, while the stripes also represent the concept of KASANE.

When the lid of the compact powder is closed, the translucent white top elegantly overlaps with the pattern inside.

Each box features two different colors, layered to appear partially translucent. This represents the sheer quality of the powder and the delicate changes in the powder’s glow.

While the design incorporates Japanese elements unique to Shiseido, it also includes a playfulness that feels cute and exciting to all.
